As operators of the future Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre, we Acknowledge the Traditional Owners of Djilang (Geelong), the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay respects to their Elders past and present, and thank them for gifting the centre its name, returning language to Country. Meaning ‘open your eyes to the hills’, once open, Nyaal Banyul will encourage visitors to the centre to look deeply and appreciate the landscapes and history of Wadawurrung Country.

Getting here

  • Getting to Nyaal Banyul is seamless, no matter how you travel.

  • Fly directly into Avalon Airport from Sydney, Brisbane, or the Gold Coast with Jetstar , just a 20-minute drive to Geelong. Choose from car, taxi, shuttle bus, or car hire, with MyBus Geelong offering shuttle services to and from the airport.

    Alternatively, Melbourne Airport provides regular domestic and international flights. Just an hour's drive to Geelong, you can book transfers through Gull Airport Service , which also offers VIP services and coach charters.

    Wilsons Parking offers secure on-site parking and flexible rates. Enter via 7 Cavendish Street, Geelong VIC 3220.

    Taxi and ride share drop off and pick up zones will be located on Western Beach Road and Smythe Street.

    Coach pick-up and drop-off bays will be located outside the Main Entrance on Western Beach Road, accommodating up to three coaches at a time.

  • Our venue will offer cloakroom facilities at the Customer Service desk located at the Main Entrance. Space is limited, but your Event Planner can arrange a dedicated cloakroom for your event if needed.

  • A Customer Service Desk, complete with cloaking facilities, will be situated at the Main Entrance. Operating hours will vary depending on event requirements.

  • A fully equipped first aid room will be available on the Ground Floor for any medical needs.

  • We’ll have a multi-faith room with washing facilities on Level 1, providing a quiet space for reflection and prayer.

  • Our parent's room, located on Level 1, will include a microwave, baby change tables, breastfeeding pods, an enclosed toddler play area, and toilets.

  • Our venue will include a fully accessible changing place with a changing table, hoist, shower facilities, and essential amenities to provide comfort and convenience for visitors.

  • A dedicated sensory room will be available to offer a calming and supportive space for those who may need a quiet retreat during events.

Each event space, is designed for equitable access, featuring at-grade entrances, push-button opening doors, and hearing assistance available via both Wi-Fi and infrared.

Wala mirr Theatre will offer a wide variety of seating types to accommodate different abilities, with wheelchair-accessible seating available at multiple heights along the tier.

We will proudly offer a sensory room, a Changing Places facility, and several all-gender bathrooms to ensure everyone's comfort.
